Pale Ale Competition Results

Thank you so much to everyone who entered our Pale Ale Competition. It was truly an honour to be given the chance to taste your beer and we had a lot of fun doing it! There were 38 entries and, yes, we tasted them all! Congratulations to the winners:

Tinhouse Pick of the Night:

Phil, Andy and Mark, from Tinhouse brewing chose one pale ale that they agreed was the best of the night. They’re offering a prize package of some TBD swag/growler/gift card as well as (DRUM ROLL): An invitation to brew a 50 L pilot batch of the winning recipe with the Tinhouse team at the brewery to be served on tap!

Congratulations to Jim Cottingham!

Barley’s Pick of the Night:

Barley’s Homebrewing Supplies is offering a free sack of grain and a free pound of hops (of the winner’s choice up to $100 value). And we’ll add the recipe to our recipe book! With 38 entries, this was a difficult decision.

Congratulations to Brian Leiper!

We also want to give a shout out to some of the runner-ups. We had to go back and taste these beers again before reaching a verdict. There are no prizes for these folks other than our respect and appreciation:

  • John Le Huray
  • Lisa Wegener
  • Toby Taylor and Cindy Reddick
  • Matt Horton
  • Jim Cottingham
