Four Winds: IPA – Cloning Competition

Clone This Beer:

Four Winds IPA

Four Winds

Four Winds Brewing Co opened in Delta, B.C., less than a year ago but has quickly developed an excellent reputation amongst craft beer enthusiasts. In a recent poll, Four Winds ranked amongst the Top 5  for the people’s choice of favourite B.C. breweries alongside well-established favourites such as Central City and Driftwood. That’s quite an accomplishment for such a new brewery in the burgeoning craft beer scene of British Columbia.

So if you haven’t already done so, try their IPA. Like it? Great! Now brew it. Barley’s Homebrewing Supplies and Four Winds Brewing Co invites you to try and clone this beer. You can find their 4-packs of 355ml bottles in a number of private liquor stores or visit the brewery in Delta for growler fills.

It’s up to you to discover what combination of malt, hops and yeast will yield the most similar product. Whether you’re an extract brewer or brewing with all grain, you’re welcome to take part in this challenge.

Four Winds brewer, Brent Mills, himself, will be judging your beer based on it’s similarity to the Four Winds IPA. The winner of this competition will be invited to the brewery for a day, to assist in the brewing process.

If you would like to take part in this competition, please email me or let me know in person so that I can get an idea for numbers. Judging will take place at Barley’s Homebrewing Supplies (Date TBA). You’re entry can be a bottle of any size. the bottle will be numbered and judged anonymously.
