Galaxy is an Australian hop variety and has become quite popular since its inception in 1994. The parentage of Galaxy stems from the German Perle hops.

The aroma of this hop is quite unique, being described as passion fruit and citrus or even apricot, melon, blackcurrant and mango. These aromas are quite pronounced when used in late additions but the high alpha acids (15%) make this an excellent bittering hop as well. Total oils (in ml /100g) are very high in this variety, allowing it to impart a rather intense flavour and aroma contribution to a beer. Try Galaxy in a pale ale or IPA.
