Glacier Hops have an alpha acid of about 6% and are cited as being an American descendent of Fuggle. Other sources, however, describe Glacier as a genetic mix of numerous hops including Brewer’s Gold, Northern Brewer, German Aroma hops and East Kent Golding. Glacier hops are considered to be balanced, dual purpose and are used in various beer styles. The aroma is citrusy with hints of fruit, and herby/grassy notes. The low cohumulone acid content takes some of the edge of the bitterness. Give them a try! Glacier hops are available at Barley’s Homebrewing Supplies in pellet form.
